Honest Review of Hotel Ratneshwar

 Honest Review of Hotel Ratneshwar

If you’re looking for a budget stay in Alipurduar, Hotel Ratneshwar is an option worth considering, but it does have its pros and cons. Located in Birpara Bazar Lane, this 3-star hotel provides basic amenities with decent service, making it a functional choice for travelers.

Honest Review of Hotel Ratneshwar

First Impressions and Check-in

The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was polite. However, the hotel lobby lacked the warmth and aesthetics that some travelers might expect. The non-smoking environment is a plus, ensuring a fresh and pleasant atmosphere.

Rooms and Comfort

The rooms were clean and air-conditioned, but quite basic. Here’s what you get:

  • A standard bed (not the most comfortable one I’ve slept on)

  • A work desk

  • A flat-screen TV

  • A private bathroom with complimentary toiletries

While housekeeping was decent, the lack of internet access was a downside. The rooms could use a bit of an upgrade in terms of decor and furnishings.

Dining Experience

The in-house restaurant serves a variety of meals, including à la carte, continental, and vegetarian breakfast options. While the food was edible, it wasn’t particularly memorable. The breakfast selection was limited, and service was a bit slow.

Facilities and Services

Hotel Ratneshwar offers a few amenities:

Two outdoor swimming pools: A great addition, but maintenance could be better.

Free private parking: Convenient for guests with their own vehicles.

Room service: Available but not always prompt.

Daily housekeeping and laundry services: Helps maintain basic cleanliness.

Location and Nearby Attractions

The hotel's location is decent for sightseeing:

Alipurduar Junction (7.9 km) – Provides connectivity.

Buxa Tiger Reserve (21 km) – A great spot for nature lovers.

Cooch Behar Airport (23 km) – Convenient for travelers flying in.

Final Verdict: Is Hotel Ratneshwar Worth It?

If you are looking for a simple place to stay within a budget (₹2000-₹3000 per night), Hotel Ratneshwar is passable. However, don’t expect luxury or exceptional service. The lack of internet access and the average food quality were downsides for me.

Would I stay here again? Maybe, but only if I had no other better options in this price range.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5)
