In a significant push to redefine tech shopping convenience, Blinkit, India’s leading quick commerce platform, has started 10-minute delivery of Apple products across select cities. This includes high-demand devices like the iPhone, MacBook Air, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and various Apple accessories.

The announcement was made by Blinkit’s Founder and CEO Albinder Dhindsa via a post on X (formerly Twitter), underscoring the company’s expansion into high-value electronics delivery, right to the customer’s doorstep.

Cities Covered in the First Phase

Customers in the following cities can now receive their favorite Apple gadgets in under 10 minutes:

  • Delhi NCR

  • Mumbai

  • Hyderabad

  • Pune

  • Lucknow

  • Ahmedabad

  • Chandigarh

  • Chennai

  • Jaipur

  • Bengaluru

  • Kolkata

This move reflects Blinkit’s aggressive expansion of its rapid delivery ecosystem, moving beyond groceries and essentials into premium consumer electronics.

Apple at Your Doorstep in 10 Minutes

The 10-minute delivery format for Apple products is a major leap in customer convenience. Whether it’s a last-minute gift, a forgotten charger, or an urgent work-from-home requirement, Blinkit’s quick commerce network now makes premium tech accessible within minutes—a feat that traditional retail and even standard e-commerce cannot match.

While the exact catalogue varies city-wise, customers can expect access to:

  • iPhones (latest models)

  • MacBook Air

  • iPads

  • Apple Watch

  • AirPods

  • Official Apple chargers, cables, and accessories

This service is being made possible through Blinkit’s dark store model, which uses strategically placed fulfillment centers in dense urban zones to deliver within hyperlocal timelines.

Zomato’s Continued Investment in Blinkit

The launch comes at a time when Zomato, Blinkit’s parent company, is doubling down on quick commerce despite short-term financial pressures.

In the quarter ending December 31, 2024, Blinkit’s quick commerce business reported a loss of ₹103 crore, largely attributed to accelerated investments aimed at scaling operations and expanding reach.

Despite the burn, Zomato remains bullish on Blinkit’s long-term potential. In a recent shareholder update, the company noted that these losses are expected to continue in the near term, as the focus remains on growth and customer acquisition. The temporary slowdown in margin expansion, according to Dhindsa, is anticipated and strategic, with future profitability expected as operations scale.

Just this week, Zomato injected ₹1,500 crore into Blinkit by acquiring 7,612 shares at an issue price of ₹19,70,171 per share, according to filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).

Quick Commerce Meets Premium Tech

Blinkit’s foray into Apple product delivery is a landmark move, signaling that quick commerce is evolving beyond convenience into lifestyle and luxury. It also demonstrates how platforms can leverage their rapid delivery infrastructure for high-ticket items, effectively merging e-commerce with instant gratification.

This also opens the door for potential future deliveries of other premium brands and electronics—imagine ordering a PlayStation, DSLR, or even a high-end smartphone and receiving it in under 10 minutes.

The Bigger Picture: Blinkit’s Disruption Strategy

With competition heating up in the quick commerce space, Blinkit is actively differentiating itself through strategic category expansion and ultra-fast delivery. From SIM cards with Airtel to now Apple products, Blinkit is on a mission to become India’s go-to platform for everything—from daily essentials to tech gadgets.

Zomato’s continued backing signals confidence in Blinkit’s vision, and the company is betting that customer adoption and frequency will eventually drive sustainable unit economics, even if losses persist in the short term.

Final Thoughts

Blinkit’s 10-minute Apple product delivery is more than a gimmick—it’s a powerful indication of the future of commerce in India. As consumer expectations shift towards immediacy and digital-first experiences, platforms like Blinkit are not only adapting—they’re leading the change.

Whether it’s a new iPhone before an important event or a pair of AirPods delivered during a Zoom call break, Blinkit is bringing premium, on-demand shopping to your doorstep.
